Comprehensive
This book is well written and detailed. I found it particularly useful for my semantics course. It covers the necessary logic one need to do semantics. It also discuses type theory and the lambda calculus. This book is a great complement to any semantics text.


Not Just for Linguists
The mathematical methods in Linquistics is well more about the mathematical methods that about linguistics, although in much of places the linquistics is employed like source of the examples. Instead of that it covers mathematical matters such as sets (infinite sets including), of the relations, much of mathematical logic, the automats (to the machines turing), of the calculation of lambda, the trellis and more. It would be an excellent book for a avançé student preparing a licence or a student graduated in mathematics or data processing to be used like text of review, or like study for more research guides.
