PM FASTrack: PMP Exam Simulation Software, Version 5
Reviews:

starsAbsolutely Recommend PMFastrack!
I purchased PMFASTrack a couple of months before I was scheduled to take my PMP exam. The exam simulation questions proved to be an excellent tool for preparing for the exam. Being able to answer PMP related questions by process group and knowledge area allowed me to test my knowledge and determine where I needed to brush up. In addition, the PMP and SuperPMP simulation exams with actual countdown timers were great ways to prep for the psychological and physical demands of the actual exam.

With over 1400+ questions, I rarely encountered repeat questions. I would recommend the PM FASTrack simulator to anyone that is preparing for the exam. Although not a requirement, I think it provided me with the added edge and confidence needed for the exam. Thanks in part to the Exam Simulator, I successfully passed the PMP exam on my first attempt!

starsPM FASTrack: PMP Exam Simulation Software
Extremely helpful for mentally prepared you for the exam and also help you to push your limits to strengthen your capacity by practicing this CD.
Secondly which will clear your concepts and create the confidence.
Third one ...which help you to think in a positive way and make you to approach in right direction to eliminate wrong answers and pick the correct one.
Frankly speaking, I cleared PMP exam just because of this CD. Thanks a lot for Rita for her dedication towards PMP to help baby broomers.
Suggest strongly who prepare PMP, please go forward with this CD and increase your success rate.

Thanks & Regards
Chakravardhan

starsGreat tool for identifying gaps, but don't get addicted!
The FASTrack software is an excellent complement to Rita's PMP Exam Prep and can significantly reduce the amount of time required to prepare for the actual exam. For me there were three benefits.

First, taking 100-question exams allowed me to identify where my knowledge gaps were. After analyzing my results and seeing where I was having problems, I could focus in on a particular process group or knowledge area (Closing and Procurement were my sticking points). This saved a lot of time I would have otherwise spent re-reading the sections that I already knew.

The second benefit was that I became familiar with the types of questions that would be asked on the test. Often times there are multiple correct answers, but only one is what the PMI considers 'best'. Becoming 'Zen' with the PMI and answering the questions from their perspective is critical to passing the exam, and the sample questions are very similar to those I saw on the actual exam.

The third benefit is that I was able to recreate the testing environment. I could lock myself in a room for 3 hours, and force myself to take the 200 question test mimicking the exam conditions as much as possible. Because of this I felt very comfortable walking into the test center and was able to attack the exam and not let it overwhelm me.

CAUTION: It is very tempting to to take test after test after test. It becomes very satisfying as you get more comfortable with the way the questions are asked, but I found I learned very little by taking the tests. To be sure, when I got a question wrong and looked at the correct answer I might glean something from it, but the majority of my learning came from reading Rita's exam prep and the PMBoK.

What worked best for me was to read the exam prep first, then re-read the chapters where I didn't do much of the content in real life (like Procurement) in much greater detail. Only once I really felt comfortable with the material did I take a 100-question exam and identify my gaps. From there I focused my efforts on those areas, re-reading sections or entire chapters when necessary, then take another 100-question test.

I agree with several of the reviewers that the 1300-question knowledge bank means you'll get the same questions thrown at you, so it's in your best interest not to use them up too fast. Somewhere in there make one of your tests the full 200-question exam so you can get a feel for what the real exam is like.

One final word of warning - the actual PMP exam will no longer tell you the percent you got correct. The overall test gives a Pass/Fail rating, and you get a Proficient/Somewhat Proficient/Not Proficient for the five process groups plus Ethics. That was somewhat disappointing, but more than made up for by the 'Pass' at the top of the page. :)

starsSpendy but worth the money
I thought this software was spendy but upon taking the PMP exam, I found it worth the money. I used both the Rita CD and the book. The simulations were identical to the actual exam. Though all of the questions are different, the simulation helped me build up my stamina to sit there an focus for hours. The exam was horrid! If not for the book and the CD, there is no way I would have passed. They really are worth the money.

Derek Huether, PMP

starsCritical to success
Rita did an excellent work with its products. This software of simulation enables you to concentrate on the groups of process and the groups of knowledge with answers right a click far. The test of PMP and the superb test of PMP simulate the environment which you meet by taking the test. If you can uniformly mark higher than 85%, you will have necessary confidence to pass the examination.

starsI couldnt of passed without this software....
Let me be honest with you... I'm a smart cookie but there are so many study materials out there to prepare for this examination, that I found my head swirling with confusion. I took the PMP prep class and while I found it helpful, it certainly is not enough to help you pass the exam (and I have an MBA so if I'm saying that, you can take my word for it).

There are companies out there selling their own "study materials" to prepare for Rita's exam but the problem with their materials is that their thinking is not the same as Rita's.... Therefore, you have to make up your mind; are you going to study their thinking or Ritas (the creator of the exam). After purchasing everyone elses study materials and confusing myself beyond comprehension, I decided to chuck their books and use only Ritas books and this software... WHAT A GOOD DECISION I MADE.

The software contains 1300 questions written by Rita and her team.. The format of the questions and even the style of thinking is almost EXACTLY the same as the exam. I was astounded. There were even some questions on this software that were actually on the exam. Need I say more?

I basically spent 2 hours a day for 2 months and drilled these 1300 questions into my head. I supplemented the software with her book and then I took the exam.

Considering 60% of everyone who takes the exam the first time fails, I passed the exam the first time with 85. I was estatic.

The bottom line is that its not what "you think" but what Rita thinks and whether you understand her thinking. I rarely used my own project mgmt background and I dont suggest you rest your laurels and walk in there "cold" and take the exam.

Study this software, read her book, get a good nights sleep, eat a good meal before the exam, and say a good prayer to the Lord.. Thats the best advise I can give you..

Good luck on your exam! ;)

starsFastTrack review
I used only this CD, PMBOk guide and Rita's book to pass the exam. This CD is the only item i used for taking sample tests. SuperPMP in the CD is close to the exam.

My recommendation would be the project management experience, Rita's book, PMBok guide and the CD (Optional) to pass the exam.

Explanations were good when i had answers incorrect in the sample tests.

starsNeeds Improvement
The simulated tests provide good practice in taking the test, and I see myself getting better over time. However, it would be nice if you could use the simulated tests as aids in determining where you need to focus your studying. This is surprisingly difficult to do with this software!

At the end of a practice test, you can ask for details of your score and it will break down your score by project management process group (initiating, executing, etc) plus an extra category for ethics. This is (according to the software) the same way results are presented after the actual exam. However this is not how the PM BOK is organized nor is it how the companion text "PMP Exam Prep" is organized! It would be helpful if scores were also measured against the knowledge areas since that is how the study materials are organized. What is worse, you won't even find this out until after you take a four-hour test! Four wasted hours, really, if your goal is to find out where your study time would best be spent.

I also ran into some software errors in which a question with an accompanying chart threw an exception when I pressed the View Chart button. I was not able to view the chart so I skipped the question.

All in all I give three stars for the large number of questions but for $300 I'd expect more.

starsPM FastTrack Review
PMPFastTrack is a good tool in a sense that it will benefit you in terms of preparing oneself for the types of questions (....more of the look & feel) & other thing is that just due to the volume of question & answering process, one tend to learn in the process.

PMP exam are lot harder than & objective answers are lot closer to being ambigous than the one PMFastTrack offers. Fortunately, I was just able to pass the test but not with flying colors. I was a little dissappointed with the investment of $188. Price for the questionaire should be far more affordable by at least 35% to 40%.

starsNot worth the money...
I bought this software expecting a lot more. I took an exam prep class at Sac State University and was told to purchase additional sample questions. I got this software and had about 200 additional sample questions from my examp prep class at Sac State. I also spent another $[...] buying a book with practice questions.

When I actually took the exam on October 4th, 2007, none of the scenarios in this software were even remotely similar to scenarios on the real test. If it hadn't been for taking the exam prep class and buying the $[...] book, I would not have passed. This software did not help me much if at all...not to mention the fact that you don't even get to "own" the program. It's only good for a year from the install date.

Save your money.

starsGood Choice
I loking for this kind of material to improve my hearth in the PROJECT MANAGEMENT. I am an instructor and the EXPRESSWAY of TOKEN ENTRY is a good company for me.

starsThis shipped product does not work.
To work with the support of RMC to record and employ the software since one month. The problem could not be solved by the technical support. The product is unusable.

starsNot exactly what you pay for ....
The simulation of examination of FASTrack de Rita Mulcahy is a good tool by helping those interested to take the test of certification of PMP. CD contains several questions which emulate the model of the questions to find on the examination. CD provides marvellous references to locate the correct response in the PMBOK (delivers of project leader of knowledge), which can be bought seperately (or downloaded freely of PMI.org). The inconvénient/déception principal that I had with my purchase is that there is a time of the access to CD. Once that the CD software is installed on your PC and is authorized, you are only one year old of access. It proves to you only lease this software for one one year duration. Perhaps I am a little obsolete but I appear if I pay of almost $200 the software which it would owe is mine to keep. Moreover, the software can be authorized for a maximum of the instalations of towing. There is no credit rating for the uninstallation of the software of your book or above of office. Be thus sure to install it on a reliable system. The product is good except one lease of year. The organization of SME grants to an applicant one year to take and pass the examination of PMP after the thier application is approved. Thus my council must be ensured to obtain your approved application to you before you authorize CD of Rita. In this way you can make sure that you obtain the maximum quantity of time using CD for for what to you had envisaged it. I believe that one limitation of year is just bad policy. What makes this the worse is than there is no mention of this limitation is any description of the product.

starsThe best material
The "TOKEN ENTRY FASTrack: The software of simulation of examination of PMP "is the best material for which want to take the examination of PMP. The questions are well structured, and simulations are very difficult. It is for why I like to use this CD improves my qualifications "of project management".

starsGreat help but challanging software support
I brought this software because I really got a lot out of Rita Mulcahy's book `PMP Exam Prep, Fifth Edition: Rita's Course in a Book for Passing the PMP Exam' which I think is excellent.

This software contains a range of exam simulations which are also very helpful in preparing for PMP exams.

I gave the product only two stars because the software is time bombed (it expires and cannot be reused beyond one three month extension) and can only be installed twice (designed to support two machines). I had a hard disk crash and needed to reinstall but they (the software developer) would not allow me to do this without eating my second install which I had planned to use for my desktop (as I travel and wanted the software on both). This is, in my opinion, archaic customer service and an unacceptable license limitation for a software product in this price range.

starsGood but with room for improvement
I read PMBOK once and premp of examination of PMP of Kim Heldman once, and makes PMFastrack approximately 700 questions. All in fact in 1.5 months without occupying itself of all formation of classroom/online and PMP passed with the average points of 72%! PMFastrack is A must have and must test for those which test PMP. It gives you a feeling how questions of examination of PMP are structured and how crafty one these questions (and answers) could be. There miss information in PMBOK which PMFastrack indicates it and indeed it appear in the true examination of PMP. For example on the power of "control" like the "power of Referrent", "the expert power", etc...... PMBOK not mentioned but it appeared in the examination. Moreover on the "management of conflict" the techniques like "to force", "to smooth", etc..... which it appeared several times in the true examination but nothing in PMBOK. The good PMFastrack thing indicates such of the "hidden" matters. To be right, the preparation of examination of PMP of Kim Heldman also indicated such matters of "hide-but-$$$-Appear-In-EXAMEN". I guess that the preparation of examination of Mulcahy will also indicate it. However, there are some matters miss in PMFastrack and PMBOK on the management of supply. There were approximately 2 questions in the examination of PMP about the benefit of the contractor calculator of a contract, with the key word "not of total of consumption".... The other disadvantages of PMFastrack are, it continues the repetition of the questions which you already took and sometimes the explanation does not have a direction for me. It is difficult to include/understand the process of thought when the word right "B of explanation is the best answer"..... Another good device to be had is if the software could analyze your test results and to present more questions to you about these weak sectors or low sectors of points. In short, it is A must have for: 1. The degree of resemblance of him is data base of questions to the real examination. 2. Size of the data base 3 of question. Capacity so that the data base is updated all the times that there are the new updates 4. The test results calculators based on the number of questions answered 5. Time calculator taken with the answer calls into question (yes 4 hours is not sufficient in the true examination) of the sectors for the improvement: 1. Keep the account and one score of questions already taken to decide if it is repeated 2. Scramble the order of the answers if the question is repeated 3. Provide the explanation of detail for each of the answers (not simply for some questions) 4. For each correct answer, provide the reference to PMBOK (preparation of examination of the PMP of Mulcahy not simply)

starsGood prep for the PMP exam
I took my examination of PMP August 2, 2007. Here for and it against for this software: FOR 1. The questions examine your knowledge of each sector of process of group and knowledge. 2. It helps you to obtain used with the situational questions approaching 3. It helps you to obtain your spirit around the way of answering the questions crafty ones 4. It detects your points for each examination and shows where you are 5 years old low. You can practise questions about certain concepts or even test the mode of "SuperPMP" which is harder than the regular examination of practice as regards PMP. AGAINST 1. Questions are selected by chance for each examination which means that there is a good probability of seeing the same question more than one once. The problem with this is that it does not help to measure precise points b/c of test which you could to just point out you the answer for this question of memory and obtain higher points. 2. No manner of taking examinations of practice without repetition of questions. 3. Some questions do not function with Windows Vista. A note of imp: Opposite with the popular opinion, I found the examination real of PMP HARDER than the examinations of practice of this software! ! I took 5 of these examinations of practice and marked until 92% but obtained from the much lower points on the true examination. I motionless would recommend this software to each one... tests the examinations of SuperPMP and see how you... some questions about the true examination were much more difficult than I envisaged. And yes, I passed... thus to his whole it of the subjects! :)

starsGood product
Hello, I bought afterwards for preparation 1 of PMP. Examination Sim De Crosswing PMP 7.1 2. PMP FastTrack 5 3. 3rd PMBOK 4. Preparation 5 of examination of PMP which I exploited in steps by using Crosswing as soon as I also tested Fasttrack. Thus I employed only items 2-4 of the list below for the preparation. It must then secure 100% loan for the examination enough. Yesterday I made successfully the examination.

starsRather outdated.
I passed the exam by taking my friends advice of not continuing using this CD. The new PMP exam is more tough, the questions are more direct.Rita's questions are more easy but answers are very different with some irrational explanation and page # reference. The Mulcahy questions were regressive in the sense that over the period of time I started answering mulcahy way of answering which was wrong so instead of building my knowledge I was getting more confused as to what was wrong or right. At time I thought it may be a deliberate attempt to make you buy more mulcahy books or courses.

Many new topics from PMBOK are not covered even though I bought the cd in April 2007. My advice would be read PMBOK, then take some online free sample test.

starsIt's ok...
This software was well. I did not pass my test by using this software and the material presented by Rita. I am not sure so perhaps it was not direct enough. It has many agendas hidden in the questions themselves which encourage you to think, but which overthinking did not help on a test which nervewrecking already.

starsGood simulation software
I got this SW with the PMBOK and Rita's Prep Book to get prepared.
The software is good to get an idea of what to expect in the exam and identify your weak areas; expect way more difficult and ambiguous questions in the exam, though.
I took only nine tests (PMPs and Super PMPs)in total. You start memorizing the questions by that time and what you need to do in the real exam is to read every word in the questions.
I agree with most of the reviews posted here... Rita has a good study package but don't be complacient!
PS. I had some problems to install it and took three days to solve. I think the support was good anyway... buy this at least a month before taking the exam!

starsHelpful but...
This exam prep software is awesome. I love the fact that it scores based on the # of questions answered, allowing you to take multiple short quizzes. I also love that it keeps a history of all test scores.

I'd highly recommend it, but with a couple of caveats:
(1) order it enough in advance to fully utilize it. I ordered mine less than 3 weeks before my scheduled test date and wish I'd had more time to spend with the tests.
(2) I had repeated problems with my software registration, which rendered my software useless. This always happened AFTER hours, of course, so I effectively lost 4 days of intense study time due to this issue. I don't recommend putting the software on a work-issued laptop. It worked fine on my home computer.

And, yes, I PASSED!

starsExcellent for getting used to exam timings and questions.
I used this product in order to given me an idea of what to expect when taking the PMP Exam. It allows you to get used to seeing the 4 hour time count down and to the idea of marking questions for review later so that you can move on to the next question without dwelling on it and wasting too much time. It also gives good explanations if you ever get any of the questions wrong but would like to understand why. All in all, a great way of getting ready to take the exam and getting into the right frame of mind. I passed my exam, so I recommend the product, particularly in conjunction with Rita's book.

starsExpensive, but worth it
I found this software EXACTLY mimics the PMP exam experience. It's rather expensive, but I thought well worth the price. I really liked the way I was able to concentrate on my problem areas and the fact that each answer was explained in detail, both why the correct answer was right and why the others were wrong. (I passed the test the first time!)

I also liked that I could leagally install it on two different machines. I did have some initial problems installing, but customer support was prompt and accurate.

starsSaraya Evaluation
I would like to realy thank you for your excellent service, which i'm rating as 5 Stars service.
All due dates committed were successfully met and the Package has been delivered to me in a very good condition.
Again thank you very much.
Mohamed Saraya

starsThe BEST tool for passing the PMP Exam -
This was the key element that helped me pass the exam. Books, courses, study groups,...etc are all good material to cover the understand the concepts. But going through the practice tests on this CD was the single most important factor!

I highly recommend this software to all who are studying for the PMP exam. There are a good number of questions on the CD. It will prepare you for the real thing! Good Luck!

starsPMP FASTrack: PMP Exam Simulation SW, Ver. 5
I think this item is wonderful and a great benefit to help students and future test takers prepare for the PMP exam.

starsA good tool if you are preparing for PMP
A good tool that makes you familiar with the real examination software. Particular features I like are test by knowledge area and process groups and a Super PMP test other than regular PMP test of 4 hours. Though CD has 1300-1400 questions and an update database feature through Internet also, you get plenty of same questions again and again if appear test knowledge area or process wise second or third time.

starsPMP self study
The exam simulation software is invaluable for your study/preparation for the PMP exam. Why - because you can measure your progress/understanding. This is a companion for the PMBOK guide & the RM "PMP Exam Prep" books. Read chapters 1 - 3 in each book for an overview. Then your study focuses on the knowledge areas. Starting with chapter 5 (scope), you read the chapter material from each book and then at the end of the chapter study you use the RM exam simulation to test you knowledge, understanding and retention - by the chapter knowledge area. You take 30 to 40 questions at a time - when you get 80% in 2 consecutive tests; you're ready to move to the next knowledge area chapter. You progress through the last chapter and then come back and take chapter 4 (integration) because the integration chapter ties all the pieces together. BTW - as you take the test by knowledge area, you answer the question and then you can "peak" at the correct answer right after you answer the question. This gives you immediate feedback on whether you answered correctly, but more importantly in most cases it explains why the correct answer is the correct answer (really important, because the majority of the PMP questions are situational).
After you've completed the study by knowledge area, then you can take the exam simulations by process group. Since the PMP exam weighs the questions toward the planning, executing and monitor & control process groups - you take the last set of tests by these process groups. When you hit 80% or better, you should have the confidence in your knowledge to take the PMP exam.
Hope it helps you - it helped me. (Price is the only reason it did not get 5 stars.)

starsOK - Not Very good
This cd is ok not very good. The price for the CD is too high. If you can reimburse by your company you can go for this.

This will help you to think in Terms of Project Management. I am not sure how much it helped me but I tried all the Questions in this and passed the exam too.

starsInstalltion is a pain
Before I gripe, let me tell you this. Overall this CD Question software is by far the most widely used by students attempting to get their PMP Certification. A lot of people pass the exam after having used this CD.

Here are my issues with CD:

a. Installation is a pain: They have added very tight security measures to prevent copyright infringement. What this has done is made it extremely difficult for people who bought the software legally (and paid a boat load of money $234-$299) to install it on their machines. I am a computer savvy guy and it took me over 2 days to get this installed. I was 10 days away from taking the exam and I wasted two days because of the installation issue.

b. Customer Support is very bad: Their CSRs are rude and exteremly unhelpful. Their Customer Support hours of operation are 9-5 M-F. So if you are trying to get help installing the software after office hours you are out of luck. Even when do they contact you, you get the feeling they are talking to a criminal who has stolen their software and is trying to get it installed for free. All this after having paid $234- $299 for the CD.

c. The quality of the questions are not bad. But there are a lot of repeat questions. I did about 700 questions and by the time I took the 3rd PMP practice exam there were about 40% repeat questions. On the day of the exam I did 50 questions and 45 of them were ones I saw before. Many of the questions, I didnt even have to read through them thoroughly and I still got them all right. So watch out for that.

I would strongly suggest using multiple sources for questions, so u dont get used to one style such as Rita's. The PMP exam is a little different in style in the way the questions are worded.

There are other sources for questions that are cheaper and have better customer service such as Crosswind. One of my friend is using them and I have seen the questions and they are fairly good. Its new, so its not all that tried and tested. My friend hasnt taken his exam yet.

Again to be fair, I did use this CD and it helped me pass the exam. I am giving this software a rating of 2 due to the installation issues and the high cost of the software. At this cost I expect exceptional custmer service and care and seemless installation (while protecting the companys copyright concerns)

starsHelped to pass the PMP exam
I purchased this software for one of my project managers who was studying to take the PMP exam. There was a problem loading to the work PC because you need admin rights to the machine, but we were able to figure it out. The Project Manager really liked it and said that the simulation tests helped most of all. She passed the exam with flying colors.

starsThe best preparation for PMP
I recently passed the PMP exam thanks to this software. I tried several other softwares and online practice tests but I must say this software is the best. It has the same type of questions, difficulty level, topics covered and the user interface.

Both the full length tests on this CD are good indicators of your final score. I scored about the same in the actual test (actually slightly higher) as in the 2 practice tests on this CD.

Save yourself some trouble and get this software. It is worth it !

starsVery similar to the Actual Exam...
I purchased couple of softwares from the Web, Free practice tests on Web and questions on the other textbooks, PM Fast track is by far the best software. Interface, difficulty level, style, length and wordings of questions in the software are very similar to the actual PMP exam. I passed at my first attempt. Contrary to the other reviewers I found RMC customer service to be very helpful, they retuned my call immediately and took care of the installation problem I had. It's well worth the money.

starsFirst Time Pass
My study for the PMP exam involved a review course from my local PMI chapter and taking tests over and over again. For the latter part I used the PM FASTrack software. The program is great in that it does allow you to see where your areas of weakness are and to get familiar with how PMI asks questions. Remember that you are studying to a test, not for the real world.

My only complaint about the software is that many of the questions show up again and again on the tests. You become so familiar with the questions that you are able to answer the questions without really reading the questions. That said, the question bank just doesn't seem to be deep enough.

All in all, though, I think it was worth the purchase.

starsThe Best
I recommend for those who want to be approved in the first trial........

starsGreat software, but pricey
I passed the test of PMP on my first tests on 2006 September 25. My equipment of preparation: 1. The Examination of PMP: How to pass above your first Try(Andy Crowe) 2. Preparation Of Examination of PMP, Fifth Edition: The course of Rita of a book to pass the PMP Exam(Rita Mulcahy) 3. TOKEN ENTRY FASTrack: Software Of Simulation Of Examination of PMP, Version 5 (CD-Romanian Mulcahy) 4. PMBOK the questions contained in CD helped me much while passing the PMP. There are approximately 1400 questions, organized by Knowledge Area and groups of process. There are also full length PMP and the superb questions of PMP(tough). The software provides you % correct all the times that you want the to(you should not achieve all the questions) it the right points which you based on the number of questions you answered. The interface is very similar to the test. Other website/software did not come close to the interface-wise live test. Come to the contents, this CD has many situational questions which are more close to the live test. Take care not to pass by same the area(on CD) on several occasions since you could be likely to know the answers before you read the questions. I made the error and I passed by couples of the tests of PMP on this CD in 90 minutes marking 90%! Superb PMP has the collection of all the hard questions. All the answers detailed explanations, presented rather clearly. At the end of the questions of day in the live test is little harder than CD, but it is comprehensible. I give these 4 holds the first role because of the price. I could buy the software only because my company refunded the costs! It is very expensive for a good number of people.

starsGreat resource- worth the money
I just passed my PMP exam (first try) and have to say that the questions and format of the CD tests were a perfect test preparation tool. By reviewing the explanations I learned a lot about how to answer real test questions.

The graph report for the individual knowledge areas got messed up (showed a bar before I took a test for that area), but that was a minor problem.

starsVery good practice for the PMP test
I just passed the PMP test on the first try using Rita's book, "The PMP Exam" by Andy Crowe and PMFASTrack software. I read both books three times filling a thick notebook with notes and spent 3 weeks drilling on PMFASTrack just prior to taking the test. I was scoring around 80% on the tests before taking the PMP test.

The PMFASTrack CD provides excellent practice and gives you the "feel" of the test. I do not think I would have passed this test without drilling on these practice questions. Rita also gives long explanations of the correct and incorrect answers. This is important as you need to know the PMI way of thinking as it may be foreign to your way.

Now two rather minor negative notes. The CD provides 1431 questions. But the questions in the book are included in the CD. There are approximatey 400 questions in Rita's book so remember this when the number, 1431, is stated. And for some reason Rita does not believe that men are out there in project management. In her book, she references only one male, a Danny. On the CD, the male counterpart is referenced nine times in 1431 questions. The male gender concerning PMs, sponsors, managers, stakeholders, etc. is only referenced in questions 331, 480, 489, 662, 695, 783, 1342, 1353 and 1354. All in all I recommend this product, albeit a bit pricey.

starsMust have to prep for exam
Her software had errors in it (referred me to the wrong page of the PMP Exam Prep book several times when reviewing an answer), however her questions are 95% like the real exam in regard to how they are written.

You need this software to learn how to process a question and respond to it on the real exam. I do not believe I would have passed today without the practice of going through her many exams.

I especially liked her Super PMP exam with her hardest questions. It helped me remember what I had learned in her PMP Prep book.

Once you get use to the questions on this CD, the real exam won't shock you. You will feel like you are taking one of Rita's exams.

I passed the exam today on my first try, however Rita's exam prep book needs some updates for the new exam. She covers most of the stuff you need to know, however there are theories and some differences that PMI put on the exam that isn't in Rita's material. READ the PMBOK after studying Rita's materials. It will help fill in some gaps and show you where PMI disagrees with Rita on some items.

I would also suggest taking the simulated exams at pmstudy.com and buying other exam prep book on the PMI web site.

starsCD that does not simply works
I received this CD couple there are days and all the efforts to obtain him to it failed operation, it now asks for a code of site which can be only obtained starting from the office of project of RMC in the United States (I am with RU), after sending their of few E-mail, calls at least 10 times then, I so desperate that am thought started to give to the top simply on any hope on this CD. Whoever, thinking of buying this CD, take guard which it can not function because of the procedure of so restrictive installation. I saw somebody of other in the review dividing to have the same problem. Better of the chance with your preparation of PMP! !

starsComplaint
Since the software was not provided however I cannot make any comments about it. It was bought there is more for one month... I heard that it is a large material. Unfortunately, I cannot subject any review about it.

starsGood simulation, but don't count on accurate scoring
The book of Rita was recommended per many members of my local chapter of SME. However, the major part of these people took the test before the edition of PMBOK 3rd and the publication of the 5th edition of this book. I bought the book, the flashcards, and the software of FASTrack based on these recommendations, and I did not study the PMBOK itself much. I think that it was an error. I passed on the first test, but I marked 10% low on the live test than I made on the simulation of test of PMP in FASTrack taken 2 days before the test. Moreover, the sectors which I marked badly inside are not correlated with the results of the simulation of FASTrack. There were the topics on the test which was not covered in the book or FASTrack (or was covered in detail very small). In some cases, the book has particuarly mentioned that a limit was usually right an incorrect choice on the examination when I had it like question of examination. I recommend this software like tool to obtain used with the format of the examination and to provide many questions, but I do not recommend it as a precise predisor of your points. I came into contact with the support of FASTrack a few weeks before the examination to ask which items I had to make uniformly in FASTrack to ensure me would pass the examination. The answer was that Rita recommends a rate of passage of 85% in FASTrack to ensure a rate of passage of 61% on the examination. I think who am a margin unworthy of error, but, after the catch of the examination, I find it to be truer than I envisaged. Be sure to cover the PMBOK completely and, in the retrospection, I would buy an additional guide of study to ensure all the gaps in information am covered.

starsSoftware Activation Support Horrible
This software requires activation and can be only installed on 2 computers. My company bought this software for me, and my first attempt to activate it failed. I then gave CD to another person with our company and asked them that to try to obtain it activated, and it also failed. When we came into contact with the number of support of technology, they indicated to me that because two different people tried to activate the software, we violated their agreement of EULA, and would not help to further obtain our activated software. We are fustrated completely by the whole process, I would recommend to seek other solutions of replacement (less restrictive) for the software of simualation of examination.

starsAll the practice you need to pass the exam
If you want to pass the examination of PMP, it is the practice for you. This software really helps to defy your knowledge, and lets you know your weak sectors. Excel purchase.

starsfrom a new PMP
Well, I was frustrated when I purchased this product that there were only a handful of reviews at time, and promised I'd add mine after taking the test. I had heard that Rita was supposed to be 'the standard' for this software so I went ahead and puchased it. Now I have taken, and passed the exam (and did quite well!) and proud to call myself a PMP.

Back to the software. I rated three stars because there were definitely things which I thought were really helpful:
- the 'cleverness' of the question that try to trick you, so it helps to teach you how PMI might try to trick you as well
- becoming familiar with the online version of the exam and what to expect on test day, like constantly seeing a timer count down
- still feeling at the end of the day that I liked my wrong answer better, which motivated to try to keep learning 'the PMI way' of doing things

But there were also things I didn't like:
- although a question bank of 1300 sounds huge, when you take 200 at a time you can definitely start to learn the questions. this was a big problem, because it was hard to distinguish whether my score was going up because I was learning the material, or because I was learning the questions that were re-appearing. i took the regular practice test four times, and the "super" version (supposedly 200 of the hardest questions) the day before the exam.
- the ability to test by knowledge area or process group didn't seem to be a value add to me, because, in my opinion, part of the challenge of the exam is trying to figure out which section the question is addressing.
- still feeling at the end of the day that I liked my wrong answer better!

My sudying also included reviewing ESI notes from various classes taken over the years. And a short ESI prep class one month before the exam (not a "boot camp") which is where I learned about this DVD. Truthfully, as one other reviewer added, you need to know the Guide to the PMBOK backwards and forwards. It is commonly understood that not everything on the exam is contained in that book, but you must know what takes place in process groups and knowledge areas, all of the inputs, tools & techniques, and outputs, etc. etc. etc.

This software will certainly help you identify your weak areas, and you must practice taking the test (as it is like preparing for a marathon!) but the 'question creep' was a concern for me.

starsHelpful tool for PMP Exam
This simulation software worked perfectly for me. It contains tests based on PMBoK Chapters and the five Process Groups. It is possible to take any approach to test your knowledge, and find out your weak points and decide what is needed to study more. Each question has detailed answers, that make the whole package extremely useful when preparing for Exam. You can start with 50 or 100 questions tests, see your timing and score, and have estimate score for the 200 questions test. Wehn you feel yourself stronger and ready to go for the 200 questions, you just try that. After the Exam I'd realized this is a good simulation that helped me a lot. I really hate to "memorize" and desperately need to understand any little piece to feel comfortable. To prepare for PMP Exam I'd used: PMBoK, PMP Exam preparation (Rita's book) and The Fast Forward MBA in Project Management by Eric Verzuh. For tests used only this software. I can not compare with other exam materials, but these worked perfectly for me. All the preparation was smooth, pleasant, and more important: efficient. It was so because of Rita's materials. Keep in mind these materials helps to learn for PMP exam, they do not make anyone a better Project Manager! Nothing can replace real work experience, struggling with deadlines, dealing strong personalities, understand and manage unspoken agenda, face over the night deadlines, etc. If I should start over again, I would go for same materials without hesitation.

starsBest Simulation for PMP...Bar None!
It is an extremely effective and effective software of simulation of examination of PMP. After test of several, this one strikes really the mark by identifying your weak sector. I agree with another critic that several of the questions included are HARDER than the real examination! Since I passed the PMP on a test, I MUST recommend this!

starsJust passed - Software Predicted My Score
After reading the other reviews I was a little hesitant, but me took the dive in any event. I marked with less than 2 % of points on the tests simulated in this package as I made on the true PMP (and the 1st time passed). The net is that it is a model good of the PMP. If you can pass here, should pass the PMP to you. 2 primary education advantages: 1) I could take tests and see where my weak sectors were, then spends time learning this material, 2) I could take the tests and the passage of practice, thus I knew that I could do it. There are some differences between this and the PMP, but you will pass. Obtain the book and this software, and forget the classes of formation costing of the thousands!

starsA bit expensive, but VERY much worth it . . .
As an instructor of project management, I felt obliged (before requiring my students to buy the software of examination) to review versions of demonstration of approximately five other applications of preparation of examination, PC-BASÉES and on line. I was little been willing initially to recommend the software of Rita, given the price compared with others (I found examinations of simulation on the Internet for as the little of as 15 males!). But with this application, obtain to really you what you pay. I received news much of people that Rita writes the best questions of sample, and now I can say first hand, and second hand by my students, that it is absolutely true. In more of the great questions -- which in the mimick of the opinions of my students questions about the examination very narrowly -- the software of Rita has something like five or six modes of test, and all are useful. My personal favourites for thepractical one are by Knowledge Area and Process Group (if the students have a very good idea of where they are weak), and its superb mode of PMP puts really candidates by the ringing. It is a total experiment of priceless value, and I would guess that 80% of my students would not have passed the examination of PMP without this software.

starsNot useful with the new exam
I prepared by using this software and appeared for the examination and released the examination. But this software was at all useful with the new examination which has the new whole of questions. Moreover with the preceding version Fastrack 4.3, we can sell it after going beyond of the examination. But with this new version, the RMC made restrictions which you can install the software only twice once in your PC at the house and desktop PC. Thus USD 299 is a great investment for which you do not obtain any return. Total useless software. I put this comment so that nobody other loss their 299 dollars.

starsGood, but not great
The software of simulation has good devices and allows you to detect your progress, but your success employing the software is not a direct correlation to your success on the new examination 2005. It is a good idea to read the edition of PMBOK third until you are blue in the face and to employ the other material of study before taking the real examination.
