Reviews:

starsRichard Neutra - The Complete Works is not complete
I am a strong believer that any discussion of a good archtiect must contain excellect picures and drawings. This book is a good overview. It has some excellent pictures, but the selection, organization and orientation of those pictures are sometimes very poor.

THE BOOK IS NOT COMPLETE. Richard Neutra designed the Gettysburg's Cyclorama Center in 1962. It has been visited by millions of people and is facing destruction (or already has been destroyed). But it is not shown or even mentioned in this book.

starsGorgeous!
Ché beautiful book. They are therefore happy that this book has been reprinted. He is enormous, with the lotteries of the beautiful photos of the job of the Neutral one. To it must for those interested to the modern architecture of California and to the Rooms of inquiry.

starsincomplete works
More best could have been called the incomplete systems. Description of Neutral does not contain one in tension. For many plans it realizes the witnesses to you are incomplete (as an example that what is the history approximately realization of the plans, that what is never happened with the constructions), or lacking, the programs they are even incomplete, missing, or contains the errors if regarding the images, or all the pavements are not represent to you from the programs. Basically, the book, although relati to you the price and weight, the sembr attractive because of fotographia the much good and disposition, all the otherwise (witnesses and the programs) are disappointing and sure not worthy the moneies.

starsOne of the great architecture books!
Barbarian Lamprecht and Julius Shulman the large books of architecture have generated one on this main figure of twentieth modernism of century. Like fan of excellent writing of the Lamprecht, the text in this book is, naturally, excellent-full of the information, the opinion and the spirit. The depth of the information supplied, comprised the pavement programs, is rare in an architectonic book of the photo. The photos of the Shulman (and some from the new architectonic star of the photo -- John Ellis) are superb. Format much wide of this book extension outside of the beautiful constructions to their better advantage. The cover of real wood seems one heads uneven for a book at Neutral, but sure he is handsomely impressive. Benchè [ the price ] is mólto for a book, this its worthy it. Hour buys it. The second edition could not have been therefore large and impressive and will sure not be made of wood!

starsRather good...for the most part
This book is amazing though the photos of Neutra's projects are generally not as large as one would hope. It is amazing how much Neutra created during his career. A brilliant book filled with insightful information and general floor plans of building projects. Best of all, there is even a map as to the location of his buildings.

starsRichard Neutra- Complete Works
Anyone that is a student of R.Neutra and his son Dion should get this book. As one reads and looks threw this book you get to know
the Neutra belief in building. The Neutra style of buildings have had a major influence modern architecture. I have had the chance to talk someone that had Neutra do a house for them. And was able to go into the house. As I walked into this house I got the feeling that Neutra did not do house^s he did homes full of warmth and feeling. As one reads you can feel how Neutra made his clients
want to work with him on their project. Anyone that owns or lives in a Neutra house would enjoy this book. It is well worth the cost. And will be read many times while you have it.

starsBig is beautiful
If appreciate your large books and heavy, therefore this book will satisfy them. He is definitively largest that it has never bought and to put it on a bookshelf is impossible. But that what can you say approximately the relative one to satisfy. Suit and suit. For having all ones the jobs in a book are ambitious, but once made correctly, the result is a book that renders all the others on the subject redundant. All the plans of the Neutral one are covered in this book in the chronological order. From this earned one perspective larger of its job, rather than the usual witnesses who show some of its blows greater and always leave them that wished more. One what that earned from this book is like during 40 approximately the design of base of the Neutral one of years has changed least, however still it was adapted to to relati to you the time and the regulation. This book is to must have. Just vigilance your posterior part, is heavy!!

starsLUXURY EDITION CONTAINING ALL WORKS OF GREAT MODERNIST MASTE
This luxe volume traces the entire career of the great Richard Neutra (1892 - 1970), whose work symbolizes Modernist splendor in all its glory. Highly acclaimed for his designs of California residences, Neutra is one of the most important architects of the century and well deserving of this stunning tribute.

Originally from Vienna, Neutra came to America early in his career, settling on the West Coast. His influence on post-war architecture is undisputed, the sunny climate and rich landscape of California being a particularly suitable setting for his cool, sleek modern style. Neutra had a keen appreciation of the relationship between people and nature and his trademark plate glass walls and ceilings which turn into deep overhangs effectively connect the indoors with the outdoors. His ability to incorporate technology, aesthetics, science, and nature into his designs brought him to the forefront of Modernist architecture.

For the first time, all of Neutra's works (nearly 300 private homes, schools, and public buildings) are gathered together in one volume, illustrated with over 1,000 photographs, including those of Julius Shulman and other prominent photographers. This is the essential reference book for fans of Neutra's work.

The horizontal 11.5" x 16" format shows the buildings to extraordinarily good advantage. This special volume with a blond wood cover is both an architecture lover's and book collector's dream.

starsArchitectural Art
This book is awesome for a fan of 20th century architectural design. Even if you just enjoy good design, you'd appreciate the history and the photographs of this great master's work. The fact that the book is so oversized is a conversation piece in itself reflecting the treasure it holds inside. The cover is made out of actual hardwood, the text is written in English, German and French and most all the photographs are black and white. A true treasure for any collector.
