Who's Who in Hell: A Handbook and International Directory for Humanists, Freethinkers, Naturalists, Rationalists, and Non-Theists
Reviews:

starsA Must for Atheist!
It is a thick heavy book, to rather good strike a certain direction in right Winger, ignoramus of phenomenon of Jesus. If you never obtain with tired hearing a certain mouth of whale blubber go on approximately how this country was founded on the religious freedom and how our fathers of foundation were God fearing of the Christians, the flick right the pages on this book and you will find a role of the names like Lincoln, Madison, Washington and Jefferson. It pays to make a little of research. I strongly recommend this book like valid reference. It is full with the names of the recorded history and each corner of the sphere. It is impressive and attractive to handle awkwardly by it. And you cannot help but to be intimidated by the way in which some of these people can be honest and veracious about their own mortality but also donot can deny their own sharp intelligence.

starsMONUMENTAL DIRECTORY!
FREE INQUIRY reviewed the book negatively in an unsigned critique that purposely contained falsities. The Council for Secular Humanism's officials need to out the culprit or culprits, for the magazine now strikes me as a commercial adjunct of Prometheus Books. Otherwise, it will lose to THE HUMANIST, which for some reason has not reviewed the book. International humanist groups have far more maturity about such matters.

WHO'S WHO IN HELL uses an umbrella approach, listing from A to Z subjects of particular interest to freethinkers and including an incredible list of over 10,000 actual people from Ancient Greece to Erasmus to Voltaire to Tom Paine to the present--Christopher Reeve, Kate Hepburn, Bjork, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., etc. Freethinkers, in short, come off as being far more important than publish-or-perish professors of philosophy when it comes to influencing the media and people around the world. I put this 6-pound, 1,200+page book next to my COLUMBIA ENCYCLOPEDIA.

The FREE INVESTIGATION reviewed the book negatively in a not signed criticism which contained falsenesses. The Council for the civils servant of secular humanism needs out of the culprit or the culprits, because the store runs up to me now like commercial addition of the books of Prometheus. Otherwise, it will lose With the HUMANISTIC one, which for some reason did not review the book. The international groups of humanistic have much more maturity on such subjects. WHO has WHO IN uses of HELL an approach of umbrella, enumerating subjects of A to Z of interest particular to the free thinkers and including an incredible list of more than 10.000 real people of ancient Greece with Erasmus with Voltaire with Tom Paine at the present -- Christopher Reeve, Kate Hepburn, Bjork, Jr. of Kurt Vonnegut, etc... Free thinkers, in short, released as being more important although the professors of philosophy publish-or-perish when it has suddenly influenced the media and the people around the world. I put these 6-books, delivers of 1.200 pages beside my ENCYCLOPAEDIA of COLOMBIA.

starsIndispensable Reference
It is an enormously important work of reference for no matter whom who would like to check if a historical or contemporary figure were or is one believing monk. The majority of the standard encyclopaedias will provide whole biographies of the important people, but darken the fact that they had serious doubts about God. Several of the fathers of the American revolution were not the Christians, but the deists who accepted only the existence of an engine not Jesus. This does not prevent believing them idiotic and noninformed to claim this country was founded like "Christian" nation. Smith will be criticized for several of his difficult choices and assertions. The book distinguishes the principal entries, true unbelievers; entries minor of the people who only wrote something bound to the unbelief, and entered peripheral. It is always difficult to evaluate the belief of a person. Our concepts of religion and faith are arbitrary. Various convictions can be expressed in various writings, and the belief can change finished time. Moreover, much of people had the reason to darken their doubts or to pretend with a faith which they did not share. For this reason, very few modern American politicians will be found in the hell. The readers will find the mood of certain good, much of Nobel prizes winner in science, the literature, and peace, as well as the majority of the important philosophers and some statesmen in the hell. Marquez Twain made really rectify when it suggested that we went the "ciel for the climate, hell for the company." No religious or secular library should be without this book.

starsQuirky and valuable little reference book
This is a really unusual book which is entertaining enough to pick up and read from cover to cover. However I think its real value is that it is an interesting and detailed reference book.

Have you ever read a horror novel that makes reference to some obscure demon up from the pits of Hell? This book will tell you all about it. Or some historical romance which makes reference to someone who spoke out against the church? Again, you'll find them here. As well as all manner of people who have spoken out against all manner of things throughout history and from all faiths and view points.

It was the title that made me pick it up in the first place, and I think the suggestion is that these are people/things who would populate the under-world. Rather tongue in cheek I think, but eye catching just the same.

So if you are a serious reader and you like interesting reference books, pick up a copy of this. You may surprise yourself at how often you look at it - it is full of fascinating things!

starsfreethinker's bible!
this impressive volume is really a work of the love, because it is the 50 year old product of careful research which the reader can randomly turn in any page given and be amused and lit! in more of the thousands of list of the free thinkers, after and of the present, filled of the anecdotes and the quotations, the author provides useful information on various matters such as the freethought, religion, philosophy, science and sexuality this book clearly shows the enormous free thinkers of contribution of all the lines made with humanity throughout the ages! it belongs on the rack of each person educated in America!

starsShould Be In Every Library
This book should be in every reference library, private and public, as it is a useful compendium of free thinkers past and present and organizations that support them. Information on groups includes addresses and phone numbers. It also makes fascinating browsing. Celebrities and politicians past and prresent are here. George Washington and Abe Lincoln qualify. Do you? The compiler of Who's Who in Hell may be rushing things a bit as many of the listed individuals are still very much alive but I am sure the title is tongue in cheek.

starsIDEAL REFERENCE WORK
If you ever wrote for a publication of freethought (Unitarian, rationalist, humanistic secular, atheistic, agnostic, etc), you are probably enumerated in this enormous volume! Moreover, if you are a member of a group of freethought (as called above), this group is enumerated. Funnier than the bible! A fate of Helluva! Jim Duncan

starsCOLLECTORS' ITEM
The handbook is a list of A to Z of more than 10.000 free thinkers, called and described in a short biography (often with the E-mail address or any other documentation). It includes Prometheus and Democritus, figures of Englightenment such as Diderot and Voltaire, transcendentalists, agnostics, the atheists, Unitarien as well as of the unitarians, and until humanistic and the secular rationalists. What a assembly!

starsRequired reading for atheists, freethinkers and skeptics!
Atheist in addition to currency of Warren Allen Smith more tired incredible "who has which in the hell" is a work which want to be sure to the agnostic or "obtain God". An astonishing summary of much of years of research and personal experiment, Smith produced traditional who should be placed in each section of reference of each library. You cannot help but fascinated by the thorough list of entries and the intense model of writing. Many priests, pastors, ministers, shaman and of the popes will hide in the cabinet with this book.
